Built to Fill a Gap
The South African drone industry has a problem. Too many operators promise capabilities they cannot legally deliver. Too many municipalities lack the aerial infrastructure they need. And the gap between what is marketed and what is actually certified, insured, and engineered to work keeps growing.
Parallax Aero was founded to close that gap. Our founder is a qualified Professional Engineer (Pr.Eng), registered with ECSA, with access to a Professional Surveyor registered with the SA Geomatics Council. That combination of engineering depth and survey certification is rare in the drone industry. It exists here because it has to — the work we do demands it.
We did not start with a drone and look for problems to solve. We started with the problems — infrastructure that needed proper assessment, municipalities that needed real aerial capability — and built an operation that could deliver to professional and legal standards.
Based in the Western Cape, Parallax Aero is building South Africa's first truly integrated municipal aerial response network while delivering professional engineering survey services. Every operation we run is backed by full SACAA certification, comprehensive insurance, and the kind of engineering credentials that let us sign off on the work — not just fly over it.
This is not a side project. This is infrastructure, built properly.
